Senter Field

Senter Field has served as the main venue for organized recreational youth baseball on Lookout Mountain for nearly fifty years.

The field was constructed in 1959 and dedicated on July 11, 1960 in honor of Nick F. Senter and his financial and administrative contributions to the formation and development of Little Boys Baseball, now known as Dixie Youth Baseball.

In 1961, Senter Field hosted the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series. The accompanying photo was taken at that event.

Over the years, this jewel on the mountain has received extensive improvements including the extension of the outfield fence by 20 feet in 2006, construction of new dugouts, new fencing, and attractive landscaping. As part of the 50th Anniversary celebration of Dixie Youth Baseball in Tennessee during July 2008, Senter Field will host the Tennessee State youth Majors championship.
